A note from the founder

Hi, I'm Eleanor.

After thirty summers on the Amalfi coast — my late husband's part of the world — I'm going home to Italy this July, and closing the American chapter of Linden & Lane.

Before I do, every last piece in the studio is here to find a new home. When they're gone, they're gone.

Before I Close the Studio

This July I close the Connecticut studio for good and go back to Sorrento. Before I do, I’m sending off the dresses I cut for the Italian summer — the easy maxis and midis I’ve loved most over the years.

They’re made in small runs, and once a piece is gone it won’t come back. Take three home, and there’s a little mystery gift set aside for you.

From the studio

The pieces I'd wear after the long lunch, into the dinner with the long views.

The Rebecca Late Morning Dress, waist-up showing the strapless pleated bodice and multicolor palette

Dresses that look right at sixty.

Italian summer dressing has a specific quality. The cuts are flattering without being tight. The fabrics breathe. The prints are bold but never loud.

I buy what I'd want to wear myself. Sandals that get you through eight hours on cobblestone. Sets that work for a wedding in June and a Sunday dinner in October. Everything passes the same test: would I pack this for a trip to Capri?

Six places. Six summers.

I name each collection for a place along the coast where I'd actually wear it. Pick the moment. The dress follows.

Before you order

When will my order ship?

Orders are prepared within 1–2 business days, and most arrive within 7–10 business days. Free shipping on every order, no minimum. Because the studio is mid-move, it can occasionally take a little longer.

What's the return policy?

30 days from delivery. If a piece doesn't fit or doesn't suit, send it back in original condition with the tags on for a full refund — every piece, sale pieces included.

How do the sizes run?

The cuts run relaxed — easy through the waist, falling naturally at the hip. If you're between sizes, size up; I prefer the more generous drape. Each product page has a size guide for specifics.

What happens after July?

The American studio closes for good. The Italian studio in Sorrento opens in the fall as the next chapter — same eye for the pieces, closer to the aesthetic. Leave your email below and I'll send word when it opens.

How do you choose the pieces?

I curate for one specific aesthetic — the way women dress on the Italian coast in August. Fabrics that breathe, cuts that flatter without clinging, prints that are bold but never loud. Nothing wholesale-feel. Nothing made on demand. Small batches, one of each, almost always.

How do I reach you?

I read every email. Send a note via the contact page and I'll usually write back the same day, often from the rack between trips. After July, replies will come from Sorrento.
